1969 Chevrolet El Camino

For sale is a 1969 Chevrolet El Camino with the “SS” option. This well-preserved car is in very good condition both inside and out, runs and drives exceptionally well, and has no drivability issues. The sought-after third generation El Camino Custom features the completely new, longer, Chevelle-based chassis and body re-design, along with the raised bulges running front to rear of the hood, leading to a chromed grate. All new sheet metal, with the more aggressive looking and forward-styling appearance enhanced the performance look and sporty feel of the new models which featured a blacked-out grille with “SS” emblem in the center.
This 22,092 mile (TMU) well cared for and maintained car was recently resprayed in its original Dusk Blue finish, with a dark blue vinyl interior, chrome bed rails, and an AM/FM radio. VIN prefix 13680 designates this is a V8-equipped Custom El Camino. Built at the Baltimore, MD plant, the car features the “SS” option and is equipped with its numbers matching 396ci 325hp V8 with 410 lb-ft at 3200 rpm, connected to the factory 3-speed Muncie transmission, a 3.31:1 posi-traction rear axle ratio, power front disc brakes, power steering, heavy duty independent front and 4-link rear suspension, dual exhaust, and special badging. The car is fitted with rally wheels shod with brand new P255/60R15 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.
Recent service includes replacing the low beam headlight, alternator, water pump, all belts, new radiator and hoses, new door seal weatherstripping, rebuild of carburetor, fuel pump and filter, fuel cap, and full engine tune-up with new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, ignition points, and condenser, along with an oil change. Noted imperfections include, minor blemish on dash pad, crack in steering wheel, cracked plastic in passenger side seat belt cover, tear in both head rests, tear in rubber between bed and tailgate, small paint bubbling/rust on driver side rocker panel, and minor blemish in paint on rear shelf. In addition, the horn and dash clock are not working. Prior service history is unknown.
